The Boxster 986 was the first of its kind in 1996 and the model that put Porsche back on the road to success after a deep crisis. Initially released with a displacement of 2.5 liters and 204 hp, it caused controversy: too many identical parts with the new 911, plus the unusual headlights that quickly earned the nickname "eyeballs".

In 2000, the engine was increased to 2.7 liters and 220 hp - this is exactly the version shown in this advertisement. This made the Boxster more mature without losing its character: compact, sporty, but with two trunks thanks to the mid-engine concept. Its price when new was just over 80,000 German marks. This 2001 model is equipped with the SportDesign package: a sports suspension with level control, silver interior accents, leather bucket seats and a sports steering wheel. The car has only 35,080 kilometers on the odometer. Unusually low for a car of this age.

The car was first registered in Germany in 2013, having previously been driven in Japan. According to the listing, its service history includes eight visits to Porsche Japan workshops and three to specialist German workshops.
