Audi A6 Avant: a six-cylinder with hidden features
Audi A6 Avant – the new dimension of the business class is a combination of sporty spirit and comfortable dynamic piese auto online.

Audi is shifting into reverse – at least that's what it seems like when we look at the current model range. Until recently, Ingolstadt planned to call the successor to the A6 the A7, but in early February, Audi suddenly corrected itself: the A6 will actually remain the A6.
And if anyone now thinks that the new A6 with production code C9 will be just an A6 e-tron with an internal combustion engine, then they are definitely wrong. The new sixth generation looks more like an enlarged version of the A5. And in the end, that is exactly what it is: a low-slung front end, a wide Single Frame grille with an attractive black outer edge on the S-Line.
The new Audi A6 Avant will be available in 11 paint finishes. The attractive headlights are also available with matrix LED technology, at least optionally in the Tech Plus and Tech Pro packages, while the basic version uses conventional LED. The headlights are particularly impressive with the finely woven aluminum mesh, reminiscent of a honeycomb. The pleasant exterior appearance is complemented by wide air vents and curtains that improve aerodynamics. The rims in the S-Line are 21 inches, while the basic version is still available in 18 inches. From 19 inches onwards, special tires are also available that are optimized for lower noise levels.
Overall, the design of the new Audi A6 Avant is very clean and extremely monolithic. The bulging fenders typical of quattro models give it an additional athletic appearance. New are the recessed door handles, which open even with a light touch. At first, it feels a little strange, but it actually works very well. In terms of dimensions, the new A6 Avant is now 6 cm longer than before (4.99 m), the wheelbase has remained relatively unchanged (2.93 m), and the height is approximately the same. Curiously, the model is 1 cm narrower than its predecessor (1.88 m).
Logically, the chocolate side of any station wagon is the visual perspective towards the rear. We will not exaggerate if we describe it as superbly executed. The eye immediately catches the taillights spilling out to the sides with optional OLED graphics, which also perform communicative functions. For example, when you get too close to the car, the taillights light up even brighter. The picture is complemented by a fine narrow LED strip that runs across the entire width. The strongly pronounced oval shape of the trunk lid, reminiscent of the second generation Audi A6 C5 (1997-2005), makes an impression.
One floor lower, the completely natural and truly functional exhaust system tips deserve attention and admiration. This is definitely not a fake grille made of plastic and placed just for beauty. As for the cargo compartment, the volume is a bit smaller compared to its predecessor: 466 liters are available in the mild hybrid or 503 liters in the classic gasoline Audi. All this can be increased to 1524 liters. The second row of seats can be folded in a ratio of 40:20:40, which means that you can easily fold only the middle seat and conveniently place, for example, skis and poles there.
In the cabin: a slightly flattened sports steering wheel at the bottom and top, in the center with a panel shaped as a reference to the front Single Frame grille. The driver-oriented curved display has already been seen in other Audi models. The diagonal of the central monitor is 14.5 inches, while that of the cockpit is 11.5. Both work with the latest Audi infotainment technology, but for those who do not have enough, there is also a Head-up display.
Optionally, a screen is available for the passenger next to the driver, designed specifically for him. It functions similarly to the monitor in the cockpit, but the passenger next to the driver can even watch movies while driving or visualize the navigation. The most important thing is that all this does not distract the driver, thanks to the available Privacy or personal mode, which turns the driver's screen into a simple black surface.
The front seats are extremely sporty. The seats are built with a strongly pronounced lateral support, which should ensure stable fixation of the body during the journey. The selection of materials used is stylish, soft-touch surfaces dominate the interior. The only reason for grumbling in a car of this price class is the hard plastics still present in places in the lower area and the door skins.
While the front row seats are sporty, behind them, coziness and comfort prevail. Even with a tall driver, there is enough space for the passenger behind him without the risk of claustrophobia. The same applies to the space above the head, especially with the optional panoramic roof, which gives the cabin additional space upwards. As a bonus, the glass roof illuminates the passengers with plenty of natural light on sunny days.
For the second row, there is also a 4-zone climate control system, with which passengers can individually adjust the temperature and ventilation. A truly wonderful treat. The only slight drawback is that the buttons do not have a physical feedback when selecting functions, but only emit a quiet acoustic signal, which you will most likely not hear when driving on the highway. In addition, for the rear passengers there are two USB-C ports for a smartphone or tablet, and if you want to enjoy the journey in the company of a drink, you can conveniently place the glass in the place provided for this purpose.
In terms of engines, it seems that Audi has significantly thinned out its portfolio. Only three drives will be offered for the start of sales. Once a basic gasoline version with 204 hp and two liters of volume, as well as a 3-liter V6 with 367 hp and all-wheel drive. Additionally, the version is equipped with a mild hybrid MHEV plus, which can add up to 24 hp and 230 Nm of electric boost and at the same time allows you to move around the city on electricity, at least mostly. As an addition: a 2-liter diesel, again with 204 hp and a choice between front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The price of the basic gasoline Audi A6 Avant is 119,511 leva, while with the V6 it costs from 166,154 leva. In the case of diesel versions for the basic A6 Avant TDI with 204 hp you should prepare at least 131,692 leva. The quattro drive for the diesel costs 6398 leva additionally.
Conclusion
The A6 is probably the most recognizable model of the Audi brand. The sixth generation of the prestigious shuttle may be the last with an internal combustion engine. At the same time, there is no doubt that it embodies the most prestigious business sedan since the iconic Audi 100.
