Drift mode and a top speed of 270 km/h for the new Golf R
The Golf 8 has now received an R version. Behind the well-known recipe - four cylinders, four-wheel drive - lies a dynamic fine-tuning that should help the top Golf to be significantly more explosive and more enjoyable to drive. The best proof of this is the new Drift mode, with which the R in the future can also take the turns "with the doors forward", as well as the new R Performance package to raise the maximum speed piese auto online.

Golf 8 R with 320 hp can be ordered from November 5, 2020 (for Germany), with deliveries already starting at the end of this month. Prices are not yet known.
The drive is taken care of by a 2-liter turbo gasoline four-cylinder engine with the designation EA888 in the Evo4 version. One of the new features of this unit is the fully electric coolant control: it shortens the warm-up phase and thus optimizes the motor's efficiency. As with the Arteon R, the unit generates 320 hp. and 420 Nm of maximum torque. That's ten horsepower more than the Audi S3. With DSG and 4x4 drive, the car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. An R Performance package is available as an option. It raises the top speed from 250 to 270 km/h and makes the new R the fastest production Golf in history. Until now it was the Golf 7 GTI Clubsport S with a top speed of 265 km/h. The Performance package also includes a larger rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels and the two additional driving modes Special and Drift. In the second, the standard 7-speed DSG offers a real manual mode – and does not rush to switch at a limiter. In North America, the Golf 8 R will be offered as standard with a 6-speed manual transmission. "Handle" is not planned for Europe at this time Filtru combustibil Mahle.
And in the eighth generation of the Golf R, power is distributed to all four wheels. Thanks to the new rear differential, the 4Motion 4x4 drive can not only distribute the torque between the front and rear axles, but also between the left and right rear wheels – up to 100 percent to one of them. In addition to the differential lock, the standard adaptive suspension DCC in the dynamics control assistant has been added.
