Ford Explorer and Capri get new battery for longer range
Ford has announced significant improvements to its all-electric Explorer SUV and Capri sports crossover. The company is introducing a new battery option and an upgraded electric motor for the most affordable versions of its Standard Range. These improvements are designed to offer customers on a tighter budget more freedom and flexibility in their journeys, delivering longer range, as well as more power and torque magazin de piese auto online.

The advanced powertrain increases range by up to 70 km for the Capri and Explorer Standard Range models. The Explorer Standard Range will now cover up to 444 km on a single charge, while the Capri Standard Range will go up to 464 km, an improvement of up to 17%. The range of over 400 km is a significant improvement that overcomes the psychological barrier for many customers.
In addition to the increased mileage, the improvements also help to enhance the dynamics, as the power has been increased to 190 hp and the torque – to 350 Nm. Both Capri and Explorer models can now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds, offering customers a more pleasant emotions behind the wheel.
“By upgrading Explorer and Capri with new LFP technology, we are increasing battery range and endurance while maintaining affordability for our customers. This is the definition of continuous improvement: using cutting-edge innovation to deliver a better, more efficient product without compromise,” said John Williams, general manager, Ford Blue and Model e, Europe. “Adding up to 70 km of range to our affordable Standard Range versions will inspire even more drivers to switch to electric mobility.”
A key component of this update is the new LFP battery technology, which not only ensures greater durability and reduces reliance on high-demand raw materials, but also allows customers to regularly charge to 100% capacity without worrying about battery damage. This provides even greater convenience and makes long journeys more practical.
The first Explorer and Capri vehicles with the new LFP technology are expected to arrive in Bulgaria in the summer of this year.
