KIA EV5: the new Korean electric SUV (VIDEO)
Kia is expanding its SUV portfolio, now filling the gap between the EV3 and the EV9 with the new EV5. First, let's bring a little more clarity, because some of you may say - I've heard that name EV5 before. And YES, that's exactly right, because Kia showed its concept, named EV5, back in March 2023, and that's been more than two years now. This is now the production or, more precisely, the pre-production version. Looking at the car in general, we can immediately conclude that this is a car that is very close to the EV9, but at the same time has elements of the EV3. For example, at the front is the familiar light signature called the Star Map piese auto online.

The design with the elongated light elements resembles the outlines of a constellation. There is an interesting black element between the headlights, there is a rather serious air intake in the center of the front. Like the EV3 and EV9, now the EV5 is also an SUV with quite distinct edges and cubic shapes. And if we look at the dimensions, the model is positioned exactly in the middle of the two existing models. It is a length of 4.61 m, a width of 1.88 m and a height of 1.68 m. All this is combined by a wheelbase of 2.75 m. The wheelbase logically directs us to the rims. Usually they are 18-inch in the basic version, but in our photo model they are 19 inches, because we are talking about the GT-Line level. The same distinct edges that we saw at the front also continue in the side profile.
In terms of space, the offer is quite decent, because by lifting the trunk lid, we can fit 566 liters in it. In addition, we have a double bottom for the charging cable and other little things. The cargo floor is flat, the rear backrests fold down in a ratio of 40:60. And then you can already fit even 1650 liters in the trunk of the car. And now, before we forget, in addition, there is also a front box that holds 44.4 liters.
Anyone who is already well-versed in the interior of the EV3 and EV9 will not encounter any problems here either. In front, we have basically the same cockpit layout, with a fairly linear design. A 12.3-inch screen for the driver. Next to it is another one with the same diagonal for the infotainment system, and between them is a small 5.3-inch monitor for controlling the air conditioning. For those who don't have enough of this, they also get a Head-up display, optionally available for an additional fee.
Let's continue with the EV5's technology. As we have already specified, the model is positioned between the EV3 and the EV9. This fact is also evident in terms of the drivetrain and battery. Here we have an 81.4 kWh battery installed, which is also used by the EV3. Now in the EV5 it takes care of a range of 530 km with the 18-inch wheels or 505 km with the 19-inch ones. The drive is front-wheel drive, meaning we have an engine on the front axle, which generates 218 hp and 295 Nm. As a result, the sprint from 0 to 100 lasts 8.4 seconds. And the maximum speed is 165 km/h.
