The Japanese company Mitsubishi first entered the UK market back in 1974. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, at the end of last year Mitsubishi created a limited edition of 100 super sports versions of its Lancer Evo VIII, designed for the most ardent fans of the brand on the Island.
The unique car bears the endlessly long designation Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII MR FQ-400 and will be available only with right-hand drive and only on the UK market. It's a shame, because the road-legal monster with a maximum power of 405 hp accelerates faster from 0 to 100 km/h than the fabulously expensive Porsche Carrera GT. The Evo VIII MR FQ-400 reaches 60 mph (equivalent to about 97 km/h) in a phenomenal 3.5 seconds, while the Carrera GT needs a "whole" 3.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. The difference is small, but very significant, considering that the anniversary version of the Mitsubishi Lancer costs only 68,000 euros ...
