New base engine for Volvo EX30
For the 2027 model year, Volvo has announced a new base EX30. Its powertrain will deliver 150 hp (110 kW) and will use the same 51 kWh battery as the previous base model. Volvo has not yet revealed any further details magazin de piese auto online.

Previously, the base model was rear-wheel drive and 272 hp. Here, a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 49 kilowatt hours (net) provides the energy to accelerate the 2.2-ton EX30 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and – like all new Volvo cars – to a top speed of 180 km/h. According to WLTP tests, the battery capacity should be sufficient for a range of 339 kilometers. When the battery is empty, it can be fully charged in 26 minutes using a 175 kW DC fast charger.
For those who need more range, the “Extended Range” option is available. The technical data is the same as the “Single Motor” version, but the battery has a capacity of 65 kWh. (net) – which allows for a range of up to 476 kilometers according to WLTP. Acceleration to 100 km/h from a standstill takes just 5.3 seconds.
Those who find this too slow can opt for the “Performance” model with an additional electric motor on the front axle. With a 64 kWh battery, this model achieves a range of 450 kilometers according to WLTP. Its rated power is 428 hp, maximum torque is increased to 543 Nm, and acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.6 seconds. In this configuration, the EX30 is the fastest Volvo ever.
