Partnership between winners - Yasen Popov and Mitsubishi

High speeds and the pursuit of leadership have given birth to another strong partnership on home soil. Balkan Star, the exclusive representative of Mitsubishi Motors in Bulgaria, and the national title holders in the Bulgarian Rally Championship for 2005, Yasen and Dilyan Popovi, competing for the OMV Rally Team, announced their partnership in the field of marketing communications for the Mitsubishi brand.
Did this happen by chance, or is there a backstory?
There is, and it's very successful!
Mitsubishi Motors is one of the manufacturers that has been participating very authoritatively in motor sports at the world and national level for more than 40 years. Yasen and Dilyan Popov are athletes with an established reputation. In 2005 – already crowned national champions – they won their second title in Bulgaria with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII. Victory also came to them at the Austrian OMV Waldviertel Rally at the end of October, when for the first time our team won an international competition and took first place!
"Our plans include using the authority of Yasen and Dilyan in the world of motorsports and the fact that they became Bulgarian champions with Mitsubishi, to promote the brand and its sporting heritage," says Orlin Mladenov, head of marketing, sales, and service for the Mitsubishi brand at Balkan Star.
The partnership includes a wide range of marketing, promotional and advertising opportunities. The good news is that it will also supply Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX RS and Mitsubishi Grandis, for training and service vehicles respectively. The gesture also includes spare parts and consumables for them at preferential terms.
In the 2006 season, our national champions will continue their successful path with the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, prepared by Manfred Stoll.
The first joint project between Balkan Star and OMV Rally Team is already underway. Yasen and Dilyan Popovi have left to participate in the Monte Carlo Rally, which starts on January 19th.
