Peugeot presents revolutionary steering with Polygon Concept
Peugeot has unveiled the Polygon Concept prototype. With it, the French company reinvents the steering wheel, introducing a completely new type of steering wheel – Hypersquare, combined with a Steer-by-Wire electronic control system – at the heart of the new generation PEUGEOT i-Cockpit. The concept offers endless possibilities for personalization and individual settings and heralds a responsible future – with more recycled materials, fewer components, interchangeable parts and new, efficient production methods magazin de piese auto online.

The car is compact (under 4 meters) and is a real test platform that demonstrates a number of innovations that PEUGEOT will introduce from 2027 – including the revolutionary Hypersquare control with Steer-by-Wire technology.
For over a century, drivers have driven with a traditional round steering wheel. Today, with Hypersquare, PEUGEOT breaks the mold and completely rethinks driving.
Hypersquare® is not just a new shape, but a new ergonomic approach to the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® – a fully electronic vehicle control system.
It is combined with Steer-by-Wire technology – no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the wheels, only pure electronic control. This technology, proven in aviation, will be implemented in a production PEUGEOT model in 2027.
The system automatically adjusts the steering ratio to the speed - at low speeds (for example, when parking) Hypersquare allows quick and easy maneuvers without moving your hands (only 170° rotation in direction - less than one full turn, instead of three with a regular steering wheel).
At high speed, a small movement of Hypersquare® is enough to precisely steer the vehicle.
The Hypersquare® + Steer-by-Wire combination provides exceptional responsiveness and precision at high speed; unsurpassed comfort during maneuvers; a unique feeling of "hyper agility".
Steer-by-Wire also provides ideal feedback to the road, filtering out unwanted vibrations but preserving the feel of the pavement.
Polygon Concept presents a new generation of i-Cockpit. The exclusive Hypersquare® shape redefines ergonomics: four circular elements in the corners allow access to all the main functions without moving the hand.
In the POLYGON CONCEPT, the windshield becomes a screen – there are no traditional instruments, and information is projected onto the windshield via a Micro-LED panel (size 24×74 cm – equivalent to a 31-inch screen).
The driver can customize the information displayed on the spot: Micro-LED screens also light up from the outside, creating light animations. The lighting color is selected via a rotating LED controller, which also displays the time/temperature. When driving: each mode – Cruise, Fun, Hyper – has a unique visual theme and synchronization between interior and exterior. This projection increases the feeling of connection to the road and improves safety, as it is in the driver’s line of sight.
Polygon Concept presents the new look of the brand – the legendary “claws” are reworked in a horizontal layout, which emphasizes the identity and presence on the road. Each passenger can arrange their own space – with holders for phones, headphones, backpacks and even a skateboard. The removed center pillar and the extended windshield give the feeling of a panoramic dome with natural light. Goodyear tires have colored sidewalls and intelligent SightLine technology, which monitors the condition of the tires and the road in real time.
The seats are 3D-printed from recycled plastic (R-PET) in partnership with Spanish company Nagami. The design uses fewer components – just three main parts per seat instead of dozens. And the car has only two large doors instead of four. Parts are easy to replace – Hypersquare, wheels and seats can be changed according to the owner’s mood or style.
