Romanian trafficker fined nearly 4,000 leva
A specialized operation by the Traffic Police was conducted today. The object of the inspection were foreign-registered trucks with undelivered or unpaid fines; within the framework of the operation, a driver was stopped with 26 fines for 3,960 leva piese auto online.

As part of a procedure for synchronizing the automated systems of the national toll management and the Ministry of Interior, a specialized operation of the Traffic Police was undertaken today in the Kulata and other border checkpoints. "After the toll management systems detect trucks, mainly with foreign registration, which are driving with undelivered/unpaid fines, they are stopped, the drivers are given the opportunity to pay the fines through a POS terminal on site or are explained how to pay them by bank transfer.
If our officers establish a violation on the spot, they issue a fine with a ticket. According to the latest amendments to the Traffic Act, if the driver does not pay on the spot, a coercive measure is applied to him by removing the car's license plate and confiscating the registration certificate until the fine is paid," explained Senior Insp. Georgi Buchkov from the Traffic Police, Blagoevgrad Regional Directorate of Internal Affairs.
As of 8 a.m., there were 13 cases of drivers driving with unpaid fines. They were stopped and the fines were handed to them on the spot. More typical is the case of a Romanian driver with 26 unpaid fines totaling 3,960 leva, which he will pay by bank transfer, added senior inspector Buchkov. "If a violation of the driver is established on the spot, a fine is drawn up with a slip. If it is not paid, the numbers are removed and the registration certificate is taken away until it is paid," summarized the senior inspector from the ODMVR-Blagoevgrad.
The actions of the Traffic Police are a step towards greater collection of funds from fines imposed on foreign-registered vehicles. The implementation of the measures will continue with the participation of officers from other structures of the Ministry of Interior.
