The most powerful production Golf GTI in history
For the 50th birthday of the GTI, Volkswagen launches the Golf GTI EDITION 50 with 325 horsepower and a top speed of 270 km/ magazin de piese auto online.

Since the launch of the first Golf GTI in 1976, Volkswagen has sold over 2.5 million units of the model. Next year, it will celebrate its 50th anniversary – and to mark the occasion, Wolfsburg has prepared the Golf GTI EDITION 50 – the most powerful and fastest version of the GTI in history. With 239 kW (325 hp), the Golf GTI EDITION 50 is 18 kW (25 hp) more powerful than the Golf GTI Clubsport, which was the most potent series-production Golf GTI to date. With this engine, the hot hatch accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 270 km/h. The anniversary model is 15 mm lower than the standard Golf and features adaptive DDC suspension and 19-inch Queenstown wheels as standard.
For an additional fee, customers can also order the optional GTI Performance package. It includes Bridgestone Potenza Race semi-slicks, as well as 19-inch Warmenau forged wheels, a lightweight R-Performance exhaust system with titanium mufflers and a Performance suspension that is lowered by another 5 mm. The vertical camber of the front has been increased to -2 degrees, and the version with the optional package is around 30 kg lighter. Driver Benjamin Leuchter proved the car's potential on the Nürburgring in April 2025, with the car recording a time of 07:46:13 minutes – the best for a production Golf on the Green Hell.
The anniversary model features numerous design highlights – such as green accents on the checkered seats and red seat belts. The GTI 50 logo is on the steering wheel. On the outside, the GTI 50 logo is on the roof spoiler and on the inside of the exterior mirrors. Other special highlights include special door sill decorations, a black roof, black mirror housings and black exhaust tips. In Germany, the Golf GTI EDITION 50 is sold at a starting price of 54,540 euros.
