The new Jeep Compass - now also as an electric vehicle with up to 375 horsepower
Jeep presents the latest evolution of its successful Compass model, designed to rewrite expectations in the most competitive passenger car segment in Europe, accounting for almost a quarter of the total market. Production remains in the heart of Italy - at the Melfi plant piese auto online.

It is built on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, specifically adapted to ensure electrification in the C- and D-segments. This future-oriented platform guarantees high range, fast charging, optimal efficiency and dynamics without compromising on affordability. Developed by the dedicated Jeep brand engineering teams in Turin and the United States, with the help of expert technical minds from around the world, the new Compass achieves an impressive balance between serious off-road capabilities and effortless everyday use.
The new iconic Compass features the iconic 7-slot grille, trapezoidal fenders and robust protective panels – elements carefully integrated to pay homage to the brand’s history while maintaining the vehicle’s off-road capabilities and distinctive appearance. The new Jeep Compass is also designed with functionality and safety in mind – the addition of the modular Jeep Shield with anti-scratch coating and reinforced bumpers provide additional protection both in urban and off-road conditions. In addition, to ensure optimal protection, the vehicle’s radar has been moved to a new position so that it is protected from damage in tight spaces or when encountering obstacles.
Off-road performance worthy of a true Jeep
The capabilities of the new Compass have been expanded across the range, including the front-wheel drive version, which will also be 100% adventure-ready. With ground clearance of up to 200 mm, a 20° approach angle at the front, a 15° departure angle and a 26° rear approach angle, the new Compass is prepared to tackle difficult terrain with ease. In addition, its water fording capability of up to 470 mm highlights its ability to cope with the most challenging conditions. The Selec-Terrain system will be standard on all versions to assist customers in the most extreme situations, as will 360ᵒ protection – already known from the Avenger model.
The Compass remains one of the most compact cars based on the STLA Medium platform, measuring just 4.55 metres in overall length. It now offers 55mm of additional legroom, 34 litres of more interior space and a 45-litre increase in boot capacity to 550 litres.
The new infotainment system includes a 10" digital instrument cluster and a 16" central display, while connected services ensure that the car is always up to date through over-the-air (OTA) updates throughout its life cycle. Level 2 autonomous driving will support customers on long journeys or in heavy city traffic. All of these features will be standard across the entire model range. The equipment can be further enhanced with a head-up display, semi-automatic lane change, matrix LED lights and access via mobile phone.
Any type of drive
With a full range of powertrains covering a wide range of segments, the new Compass further expands the choice that Jeep offers its customers – with a 145 hp 48V mild hybrid, a 195 hp plug-in hybrid and three fully electric (BEV) versions, ranging from 213 hp in the front-wheel drive model to an impressive 375 hp in the all-wheel drive version. To achieve these 375 hp, Jeep has integrated into the platform – exclusively for the brand – a new, more powerful rear electric motor, providing an additional 49 kW of peak power and up to 232 Nm of torque. Combined with a 14:1 reduction ratio, this ensures an impressive 3100 Nm of torque available to the rear wheels.
The result is maximum traction in the most challenging situations, with the ability to climb 20% gradients even with no front-wheel traction. Charging for the electric versions is also at the highest level – with fast DC charging up to 160 kW, allowing charging from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes, as well as an on-board charger with a power of up to 22 kW. The electric range reaches up to 650 km.
