The new Mazda CX-5 – smarter and more spacious (VIDEO)

The CX-5 is one of Mazda's most popular models, with 4.7 million units sold worldwide in 13 years and two generations. In Europe alone, the car has been sold 850,000 times. There's a reason for all this, of course, because in our extensive test of the first-generation CX-5, it received a score of 6-, and in the second generation, it even received an excellent 6! Now, the third generation is here, so we're curious to see what it has to offer after the enviable success of its predecessors piese auto online.

The first generation of the CX-5 used the so-called Codo design, and it is now available again, but already significantly modernized. Once we have a renewed front grille, which stands almost vertically, and in this place the model has grown by a full 5 cm compared to before. Now moving on to the side profile, we notice the changed front lights. They definitely bear little resemblance to the headlights of the new Mazda 6e, which was presented statically a few months ago, and now we are even testing it dynamically. The only strange thing for us is that the main headlights are quite seriously moved to the center of the car. The daytime running lights are made up of two parts and literally flow into the side profile. The edges of the fenders are elegantly protected with Kigumi design moldings, their profile is trapezoidal.

An element that is also very common in the design of furniture from Japan. However, let's now return to the front hood, it is now positioned 5 cm higher, but in general, in terms of dimensions, the model has grown even more seriously. For example, in terms of length, we have a plus of 11.5 cm, which is entirely beneficial for the wheelbase. Specifically, this means that 2.82 m is the length of the new wheelbase, with the external length now being 4.69 m. Quite serious values, especially considering that the predecessor was not a small car at all.

The width is 1.86 m, i.e. 15 mm more, and the increase in height is even 30 mm. The color of this paintwork is already familiar to us from models such as the 6e or CX-80, but in the studio the appearance is extremely sophisticated and even creates the impression of being in a liquid state. By the way, this is one of the seven available colors that Mazda offers for the new CX-5. An eighth color will be added later, but the Japanese are not yet telling us what it will be. The new CX-5 will have a choice between 17, 18 and 19 inches for the size of the rims.

But now let's take a look at the car from the back. The first impression, especially if we look at the taillights, is as if there is a bit of BMW hidden underneath. Don't you think so too?
