Regular oil changes are essential for diesel engines to ensure that the turbocharger shaft is always well lubricated. The suspension joints are a weak point, as they suffer from high loads. Caution: both diesel and petrol engines have a timing belt, with replacement intervals of between 150,000 and 180,000 kilometres. Only the inline six-cylinder engines without a turbocharger with a displacement of 3.2 litres have a timing chain.
