Abt reveals a sporty version of the future Audi A2?
Audi is reviving the A2 as an electric car. Tuner Abt gives us a glimpse of what a sportier version of the future model could look lik piese auto online.

The Audi A2 is back – as a fully electric model. It will be based on the new MEB+ from the VW concern, which is also used for the Cupra Raval, Skoda Epiq and the future ID. Polo. Audi has not yet officially presented its new most affordable electric car – for now the general public has been forced to be content with only an image of the silhouette of the new A2. Now, however, it may turn out that the tuning company Abt has preceded the premiere from Ingolstadt.
A render that looks suspiciously realistic appeared on Abt Sportsline's Instagram channel at the end of March 2026. The proportions and layout of the car strongly resemble official press photos.
A2 e-tron: the first electric car to celebrate Abt's 130th anniversary?
The image shows an electric A2 in Nardo gray on a podium, with a large screen behind the car showing a historical photo from Abt's company history. The timing for the premiere is perfect: because in 2026 Abt celebrates its 130th anniversary. The tuner is clearly using this opportunity to present its leap into the electric future.
Abt relies on familiar design elements: carbon fiber components for the front, side skirts, fender flares and rear create a sportier look. These are complemented by larger wheels and a slightly reduced ground clearance. However, the basic character of the model has been preserved - the A2 still looks more charming than aggressive. Despite the body kit, the van-like profile is clearly recognizable.
The A2 e-tron will use the MEB+ platform.
Audi is keeping the technical specifications of the A2 e-tron under wraps. For now, it is only clear that the MEB+ platform covers a power range from approximately 116 to over 220 hp. Exactly where the new A2 will fit into this spectrum is still unknown.
It's also unclear how Abt will approach the horsepower issue. A significant increase in power is unlikely for an electric car - traditional tuning quickly reaches its limits in this regard. The emphasis is more likely to be on visual improvements.
However, another approach is also possible: instead of more power, Abt could provide the A2 with higher efficiency – for example with the help of aerodynamic elements for a longer range. One thing is certain: the electric A2 is coming – and it is stirring up the spirits even before its premiere.
