Long-term test - 100 thousand km with BMW 223d xDrive Active Tourer (VIDEO)
We covered the marathon distance of 100 thousand km with the BMW 223d Active Tourer and, as is tradition, we disassembled it into its component parts to reveal how durable the car really is magazin de piese auto online.

It's a few minutes after 7am at the BMW training centre in Dingolfing, and people are already circling our Active Tourer test car. The hood is already gone, we're currently rushing to remove the engine and the transmission. The transmission has to go to Munich, where it will be disassembled in a specialist workshop, because they have the necessary special tools, after which Markus from DEKRA will examine everything in detail once again. And we're continuing here, the interior has also been removed in the meantime. Everything is happening in parallel and without wasting time, as our plan is to see only the bare body tonight and then we'll find out whether the car has had any problems or not. Let's pay attention to some small details, because the battery will be disconnected at any moment. For example, the seats must now be adjusted in the way we'll see them in the general photo later. The panoramic roof must also remain open, because without electricity we can hardly do anything to the car afterwards. It is always necessary to observe this so that they are in the correct condition when disassembled.
And you saw it, the young people who are training here were super hardworking! The drivetrain has been completely removed – axles, transmission, cardan, everything has been removed as a whole, and we have already taken a close look, on the welds and fixing bolts we have not found any traces of corrosion so far. Everything still looks pretty good. As a next step, we will now take care of the engine and transmission, the immediate dismantling is ahead – the head, cardan are removed, after which the engine will be disassembled into its component parts.
Here is the moment when we come to removing the turbocharger, which is placed on the table in front of Marcus for analysis. Logically, the clearances, possible blockages and deposits that could exist, possible traces of impacts, abrasions, as well as mechanical damage visible to the naked eye, should be checked.
