One (itsa) with 265 hp.
Here's what Bulgaria wrote 20 years ag magazin de piese auto online.

BMW's smallest model becomes the most powerful representative of the compact class.
The answer to the question of whether BMW has crossed the line of reason worries not only the Bavarians... Will the "unit" not overflow after pouring the three liters of working volume, distributed in six mugs arranged in a line?
The situation really sounds dramatic… BMW engineers should be congratulated for creating a kind of acoustic masterpiece, because the 130i engine does not ring softly, but takes your breath away with a powerful bass from the two chrome tips of the sports exhaust system. The implantation of a large engine in the small BMW undoubtedly deserves congratulations – a step long desired by the brand’s fans. After all, the connection between cars with a blue-and-white propeller on the emblem and the inline six-cylinder engine is as traditional and indissoluble as the connection between Munich and October beer festivities…
By adding the 265 hp unit to the range, the Bavarians have put things in their place again and freed the “unit” from the worries that ambitious specimens such as the Golf GTI and Alfa GTA V6 have caused it so far. The specially adapted 330i engine (seven horsepower more powerful than that of the “troika”) is currently the most powerful in the compact class, and in terms of price, the 130i is oriented towards that of the competitor Audi A3 3.2. The “unit” drive unit reaches its maximum torque of 315 Nm between 2500 and 4000 rpm.
The 130i's speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
This range is quite wide and definitely not one of the model's strengths. The 130i's real power comes out at the 7,000 rpm mark, which is reached with careless ease and after which the red zone of the tachometer dial begins.
The feeling is very similar to that of driving a motorcycle, and
and the 130i's suspension behaves with the sincerity characteristic of race two-wheeled machines - the sports chassis developed by the specialists of "M GmbH" duly informs the driver of bumps in the road, the existence of which, for example, owners of high-class limousines do not even suspect...
The BMW 130i takes corners with the composure of a serious sports car and drives forward unstoppably until it reaches the traditional 250 km/h limit, after which the “electronic reins” begin to restrain the engine’s power. In the M version, BMW engineers have shortened the travel of the gear lever between the individual gears, allowing for faster shifting from one gear to the next.
In conclusion, it can be said that the most powerful “unit” is definitely a completely successful model, whose 265 hp are certainly more stressful for the psyche of an inexperienced driver than for the car’s technology, which can hardly be knocked out of balance. Well, the cup of reason always overflows, but such a scenario will come to the fore only with the appearance of the still hypothetical Ml with a power of over 300 hp. …
