The automotive industry is faced with a dilemma: it must make the transition to electric mobility without abandoning the successful models of the present. In other words, one should not be at the expense of the other. This also explains the EU's decision to take a step back - and to relax the ban on internal combustion engines.

Global car sales show that people continue to seek out hybrid models – they combine the best of both worlds. On the other hand, sales of electric cars are falling sharply compared to before, which is due to the elimination of government subsidies, increasing prices and the imposition of additional duties on Chinese models. Many of the Chinese cars are expected because of their attractive prices, but let's not forget that behind them are large government subsidies for Chinese manufacturers.
The seriously increased prices of new cars are proving to be unaffordable for many. Combined with economic uncertainty, this is causing many customers to rely on proven used cars – especially those with an internal combustion engine. On the other hand, the turmoil in the European automotive industry is worrying many – employees of both the manufacturers themselves and their subcontractors.

For us, 2026 will be a year in which we will have to manage to balance affordable mobility, drive diversity and the challenges of transformation.
