Audi also introduced the A6 sedan
Things have been a bit turbulent at Audi in recent months, at least when it comes to model names. It was originally said that all electric variants should have even numbers in the model name, and the combustion engine versions should have odd numbers. Ingolstadt has now said goodbye to this idea, and the old names will remain. The successor to the A6 is the first to be launched, now with the internal code C9. It was initially shown as the A6 Avant station wagon toba esapament finala asso pret.

The Ingolstadt-based company recently announced the sedan with a teaser image, and now it has revealed the full model. Like the station wagon, the combustion engine version of the A6 is based on the “Premium Platform Combustion” (PPC for short) – this is the new platform for combustion engine models that also uses the Q5 and the new A5.
Audi has made the look fresher
Strongly sloping front, wider grille: the somewhat outdated exterior of the model has been refreshed, but without reaching a design revolution for the A6. New are the headlights with standard LED technology, optionally with matrix LED lights.
The new bumpers feature side air curtains to prevent turbulence in the wheel area. The revised design benefits aerodynamics, with the sedan's drag coefficient of 0.23.
In profile, the new A6 looks much more dynamic: the front hood is pulled back and the door handles are recessed into the body.
At the rear, there is a new design of the lights that extend far down, giving the car a certain visual width. The roofline is kept low – typical of Audi. A stylishly integrated rear spoiler emphasizes the improved aerodynamics of the sedan. The sedan's trunk capacity is 492 liters.
Also available with a V6 engine
Audi will initially offer three different variants of the new A6 with a combustion engine. The base model has a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 204 hp and front-wheel drive, but without partial electrification.
This is the only diesel engine available so far, also with 204 hp, but with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Fans of big engines can choose a 3-liter V6 with 48-volt mild hybrid technology, which always offers all-wheel drive and power up to 367 hp. More engines will be added in 2025 and 2026.
